Nursery

Our nursery is located on the bottom floor of the church and is divided into two spaces, designed for each specific age group. The side you enter/sign in is for Toddlers, and, on the other side of the gate is our Infant space. We provide a safe environment with age appropriate toys, books, and developmental games and puzzles.  It is our hope that you will find our nursery, with its fun mural on the Toddler side, to be a safe, friendly, God-honoring place to leave your child!

Curriculum:
We believe even our youngest children can be introduced to Jesus through music, play, and supervised activities by a caring and loving staff.  Our toddlers hear a Bible story as they gather for snack.

What to Bring:
A packed diaper bag including the following: 2-3 disposable diapers, pacifier or favorite blanket or security item, a complete change of clothes, and a bottle of milk, formula, juice or water. Please label all personal items with child’s first and last name before you arrive at church.

Snacks:
Snacks are provided for our Toddlers. Snack consists of water and cheerios, Goldfish, or animal crackers. Please inform our Nursery Coordinator of any allergies or dietary needs.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up:
The Nursery Coordinator or a member of the volunteer nursery staff will greet you at the door of the Nursery.
You will need to sign your child in, and please fill out a registration or visitor’s card if you are not already registered. The nursery staff will open the gate to allow your toddler to enter, or carry your infant into the room.   Parents should not enter rooms unless they are volunteering that morning. All volunteers have been screened and are approved to work with your child. At pick-up you will need to sign your child out.

Saying Good-Bye:
After signing your child in we have found it best to say a quick good bye and leave for your worship service. Your hesitancy to leave sends a mixed message to your child, while your quick exit sends a positive message to your child that he/she is in good hands and will have a great time. It is normal for a child to cry when a parent leaves. We will ask for your cell number at drop-off.  If your child cries for an extended period of time and we are unable to comfort him, we will call you.  We ask that you keep your phone visible or in a place you can feel it vibrate during the service.

Checking On Your Child:
The nursery is designed with a half-door, and the top half remains open for you to see your child. Feel free to check on your child at any time. Please attempt to do so discreetly, trying not to let them see you.
If you have any questions/suggestions, or would like to volunteer in the Nursery, please contact the church office at 615-832-2897, and we will put you in touch with our Nursery Coordinator.
