The annual CHNA farmers’ market will return to the Crievewood upper parking lot on Thursday, May 6th. In addition to being a gathering place for neighborhood friends, the market offers fresh produce, meats, and baked goods from local vendors that we hope you will enjoy throughout the summer.
On Sunday, May 23, we will have our second congregation-wide conversation at 1:00 as part of Project Thrive. We will meet on Zoom for approximately two hours. Just like last time, we’ll be together as a large group at first to receive an overview and then break out into smaller groups, led by members of our Thrive Team, for conversation. We’ll hear some learnings from our first conversation and take a closer look at some information about our present reality – both inside the church and beyond our walls. You do not need to have been part of the first conversation to participate in this one.
Like last time, our goal is to have 75-100 people participating. We’d love for you to RSVP by clicking on the button below; it helps us to plan better if we know who is going to be there. But more importantly, we hope you’ll join us for the conversation on May 23 at 1:00 whether or not you’ve RSVPed. Anyone 7th grade to 107 years old with a connection to Crievewood is welcome to participate!
Crievewood, along with 17 other area churches, has partnered with the Center for Healthy Churches out of Belmont University to participate in Project Thrive, which is designed to create opportunities for our church to reflect on our strengths and ministry focus, our unique context, and specific thriving traits. In 2021, we will have a series of 3 congregation-wide conversations to talk about the past, present, and future of Crievewood. Our Thrive Team will host these conversations, listen intently, and then work together to form an action plan and strategies to help our church thrive in the 21st century.

Volunteers Needed to Run Video Equipment
New technology should be installed in the sanctuary soon that will improve the worship experience of both those in the sanctuary and those worshiping at home. Part of this new equipment includes video cameras that will be remotely operated using a joystick controller. We are looking for a team of volunteers who would be willing to operate the cameras during the worship service and who would work on a rotating basis. We will provide training and need one person per week to volunteer. Our hope is to get a large base of volunteers and set up a schedule well in advance. If you might be interested in learning this skill and volunteering, please contact Rev. John Hill and/or Joe Buffler.
Mission and Service Team Leader Needed
We are currently without a leader for the Mission and Service Team to spearhead and organize our efforts in this important part of our ministry together as a church. If you would be interested in serving in this capacity for the remainder of 2021, please reach out to John or Chelsey.

It is a CUMC tradition for the congregation to write letters to our graduating high school seniors. This year, we have 4 wonderful seniors graduating, Austin David, Jacob Lee, Eric Leyers, and Tommy Stevens! Please write them letters wishing them well, sharing memories, or offering them words of wisdom. Letters are due to Chelsey by Friday, May 14th; there is a collection basket in the narthex.

CUMC Free Library
Book lovers, do you have books that you read during the pandemic and would like to share with others? Our free library in the hall could use some previously read books to share. When you go by church or go to service, please just bring them in and add them to the rolling cart in the hall. Or you can call Mary Bryan, 615-477-1082, and I’ll drop by and pick them up.
