Worship Materials and Bulletin October 11, 2020 Streaming License Number: 20160536 Copyright License: 2880734 Weather permitting, we will meet this Sunday in an outdoor in person worship service at 9:30 a.m. on the church grounds near the front door. Because of COVID-19 precautions, there will be no paper bulletins at the service. Please access the worship order electronically using a personal cell phone or tablet. In addition we ask that you wear a face mask, maintain a distance of 6 feet from anyone not in your household, and bring your own seating (camping chair, blanket, etc.) If the weather is inclement, we are hoping to move the service into the sanctuary. The task force and staff have been working to prepare for indoor in-person worship, and those preparations are near completion. The service will also be recorded and played online through Facebook Live for those who cannot worship with us in person. You can access the recorded service at https://www.facebook.com/CrievewoodUMC/ as soon as it is posted, sometime between 10:35am to 11:15am. Weather permitting, children ages 3 years old through second grade will have the option to attend Outdoor Kids’ Worship. Worship packets will be available for children in grade 3 to grade 6. Please share this bulletin with any members that you think might not see this email before Sunday. Thank you. John Hill Scripture Reading: Psalm 148: Rev. Chelsey Hedglin Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his host! Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created. He established them forever and ever; he fixed their bounds, which cannot be passed. Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea monsters and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling his command! Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Wild animals and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds! Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! Young men and women alike, old and young together! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above earth and heaven. He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his faithful, for the people of Israel who are close to him. Praise the Lord! Sermon: Faith and Film Series – Caring for Creation: Rev. Chelsey Hedglin https://onrealm.org/CrievewoodUMC/Give Song (Anthem): O God, Your Creatures Fill the Earth: Hailee Hunt-Hawkins O God, Your Creatures Fill the Earth Verse 1 O God, your creatures fill the earth with wonder and delight, and every living thing has worth and beauty in your sight. So playful dolphins dance and swim; your sheep bow down and graze. Your song birds share a morning hymn to offer you their praise. Verse 2 You made the pets we welcome in; they’re wondrous blessings, too. With paws and whiskers, wings and fins, they offer praise to you. O Lord, you call us to embrace these creatures in our care. May we show kindness, love, and grace to all pets everywhere. Verse 3 You made the creatures on each farm; you know the things they need. May they grow healthy, safe from harm, and safe from human greed. Just as a shepherd loves the sheep, you know their joy, their pain. Lord, bless the animals we keep; may all farms be humane. Verse 4 Your creatures live in every land; they fill the sky and sea. O Lord, you give us your command to love them tenderly. We’re called to have dominion here, to care for them always. By loving creatures you hold dear, we offer you our praise. WORDS: Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, 2011 ELLACOMBE MUSIC: Gesangbuch der H. W. k. Hofkappelle, 1784, alt.
