Crievewood PrayerMost gracious God, thank you for all the gifts you have bestowed on Crievewood United Methodist Church over the generations. By your Holy Spirit, grant us the grace that welcomes all of your children.  Make us a community that reflects the full diversity of Christ’s body. Help us grow to love one another as You love us. Empower us to reveal Christ through worship and service.  In your holy name we pray.  Amen.

Songs:  10,000 Reasons and Here I Am to Worship
10,000 ReasonsChorus
Bless the Lord O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

Verse 1
The sun comes up it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

Repeat Chorus

Verse 2
You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

Repeat Chorus

Verse 3
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

Repeat Chorus

 Here I am to Worship
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love’s sake became poor

So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
And I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

 Opening Prayer:  Rev. John Hill

Scripture Reading: Matthew 3:13-17 and John 13:1-5:  Rev. John Hill Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him. John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now; for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.”

Now before the festival of the Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. The devil had already put it into the heart of Judas son of Simon Iscariot to betray him. And during supper Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God, got up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him.

Song (Anthem):  Little Things with Great Love:  Hailee Hunt-Hawkins
 Little Things with Great Love
Verse 1
In the garden of our Savior no flower grows unseen
His kindness reigns like water on every humble seed
No simple act of mercy escapes His watchful eye
For there is One who loves me His hand is over mine

Verse 2
In the kingdom of the heavens
No suff’ring is unknown
Each tear that falls is holy
Each breaking heart a throne
There is a song of beauty on ev’ry weeping eye
For there is One who loves me
His heart it breaks with mine

Bridge
Oh the deeds forgotten oh the works unseen
Every drink of water flowing graciously
Every tender mercy You’re making glorious
This You have asked us
Do little things with great love
Little things with great love

Verse 3
At the table of our Savior no mouth will go unfed
His children in the shadows
Stream in and raise their heads
Oh give us ears to hear them
And give us eyes to see
For there is One who loves them
I am His hands and feet

Prayer of Confession:  Rev. John Hill
Kyrie
Words of Assurance

Song: Lord Whose Love Through Humble Service
Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service
Lord, whose love in humble service
bore the weight of human need,
who upon the cross, forsaken
offered mercy’s perfect deed:
we, your servants bring the worship
not of voice alone, but heart,
consecrating to Your purpose
every gift that You impartStill Your children wander homeless;
still the hungry cry for bread;
still the captives long for freedom;
still in grief we mourn our dead,
As, O Lord, in deep compassion
healed the sick and freed the soul,
use the love your Spirit kindles
still to save and make us whole. As we worship, grant us vision,
till Your love’s revealing light
in its height and depth and greatness
dawns upon our quicken sight,
making known the needs and burdens
your compassion bids us bear,
stirring us to tireless striving
your abundant life to share.Called by worship to your service,
forth in your dear name we go
to the child, the youth, the aged,
love in living deeds to show;
hope and health, good will and comfort,
counsel, aid, and peace we give,
that you servants, Lord, in freedom
may your mercy know, and live.
 Benediction:  Rev. John Hill
